French court cancels friendship declaration with two NKR communities

A ruling of the administrative court of the city of Lyon has cancelled two friendship declarations of French and Karabakh cities. Thus, already nine such declarations concluded by twin cities of France and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) have been cancelled by French courts, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has stated.

According to the above ruling of the Lyon court, the friendship declarations signed by the cities of Desin-Charpieux and Chartar, as well as by the cities of Saint-Etienne and Shusha, were annulled, says the statement of the Azerbaijani MFA, dated September 27, which was received by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The MFA has welcomed the decision of the French court.

Togrul Djuvarly, a member of the Azerbaijan National Public Committee for European Integration, has noted that France recently demonstrated a more consistent position regarding the Karabakh conflict.
