Talekh Bagirzade's spouse suspected of delivering prohibited things to prison

Leyla Ismailzade, a wife of Talekh Bagirzade, the sentenced leader of the movement "Muslim Unity", tried to smuggle a mobile phone to prison, investigators suggested. Leyla Ismailzade denies the allegations.

The wife of Talekh Bagirzade claims that today, she has been summoned to the Investigating Department of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), where she was informed that a criminal case had been instituted against her under the article on transferring prohibited items to people held in institutions of the penitentiary system. "Investigator Khagani Sadygov told me to sign a recognizance not to leave. They accuse me of smuggling a mobile phone to the Gobustan prison on March 21," Leyla Ismailzade told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the woman, she and her children visited Talekh Bagirzade in the prison on that day.

"We handed our things over for inspection and were already meeting Talekh. After a while, they brought the things and showed Talekh that they found a mobile phone in the bag of our three-year-old son Abbas. It was the mobile phone of his grandfather, which we searched at home for two days. Abbas was watching animated cartoons on the mobile phone, and, as it turns out, put it to his bag with toys. Then the penitentiary service made a statement about the start of an investigation against me," Leyla Ismailzade said.

The woman believes that the penitentiary service inflated the case to put pressure on her husband.
