Kadyrov notes media's biased attitude in incident with Chechen Prime Minister's brother

The reaction of the media to the incident with prosecutor Denis Khuchiev, in whose belongings a parcel with unknown substance was found, testifies to a biased attitude towards natives of Chechnya, states Ramzan Kadyrov.

The Chechen leader reacted to posts about the detention at the Moscow airport of Denis Khuchiev, Deputy Prosecutor of the Shatoi District, a brother of Muslim Khuchiev, the chairman of the Chechen government. On his Telegram channel, the leader of Chechnya posted a certificate letter with the results of the examination of the seized substance. According to the document, it contained no drugs.

"Nobody detained Denis Khuchiev, and even more, no drugs were found in his belongings. At the entrance to the airport hall, he himself took a parcel out of his pocket at and explained that was medicine for a seriously ill patient," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote.

"His brother Muslim Khuchiev said that Denis was transporting medicine for their father. And in fact it turned out that the parcel contained the substances used in medicine," reports the "Baza" Telegram channel.

The "Komsomolskaya Pravda" reported a different version with reference to a source. According to the newspaper, Denis Khuchiev told law enforcers that the powder in the parcel was the medicine he was asked to transport for a child suffering from cancer.

"This is another psychological attack that has shown a biased attitude of the media based on nationality and place of residence," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote.

Internet users who posted comments on the "Ekho Moskvy" website expressed their scepticism about the statement voiced by the leader of Chechnya.
