Resident of Chechnya receives real prison term for posting comment on Internet

Abubukar-Sedyk Khadisov was found guilty of posting a comment justifying terrorism and sentenced to three years in colony, the North-Caucasian District Military Court has informed today.

According to the prosecution, on May 25, 2018, while being in Grozny, Khadisov posted on the Internet two photos of militants (liquidated by law enforcement bodies) and a comment "containing a call for terrorist activities and justification of terrorism."

On August 15, the above Court found him guilty under Part 2, Article 205.2, of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation (public calls for terrorist activities and public justification of terrorism through the use of the Internet) and sentenced him to three years in a colony-settlement with a further deprivation him of the right to administer websites and social networks for three years, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press service of the Court today.
