Opposition activist detained at protest action in Baku

On July 17, law enforcers disrupted the picket organized by activists of the "Musavat" Party in front of the Iranian Embassy in Baku. More than 10 people were detained. Later, the protesters were released, except for Elman Guliev, the leader of the "Musavat" youth organization.

The activists of the opposition "Musavat" party tried to hold the picket in protest against the establishment of joint production of weapons by Tehran and Yerevan, reported the "Meydan.tv" on its website on the same day.

The protesters demanded from the Iranian government to abandon military cooperation with Armenia, denounce the agreement with it on joint production of weapons, and release the Azerbaijani activists prosecuted in Iran.

The picket was not sanctioned by the authorities, the "Meydan.tv" reports.

The police detained some participants of the protest action.

In total, more than 10 people were taken to the Sabail district police department. Later, all the detainees were released, except for Elmin Guliev, the leader of the "Musavat" youth organization.
