Fuad Abbasov deported from Russia to Azerbaijan

Fuad Abbasov, who returned from Moscow to Baku on June 25, has assured that he would continue his journalistic activities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Azerbaijani journalist, Fuad Abbasov, was to be extradited from Russia on June 7, but instead, on the same day, he was placed in a temporary detention centre for foreigners located near Moscow. Abbasov had treated it as unjustified deprivation of freedom and declared a hunger strike, which he stopped on June 19 following doctors' recommendations.

On June 25, Fuad Abbasov was deported from Russia to Azerbaijan, the "Ona.az" has reported with reference to his advocate, Teyub Sharifov.

Fuad Abbasov has already arrived in Baku at Geidar Aliev International Airport, where he was met by his relatives, friends and media professionals.

After arriving in Baku, Fuad Abbasov promised to continue his journalistic activities. He also stated that he would prove his rightness through the court, the "Report" informs with reference to the journalist himself.
