Gukovo miners mark three years of their struggle for payment wage debts with a picket

Former workers of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Zamchalovsky Anthracite" have elected a representative, who will defend their interests in courts and the prosecutor's office, Gukovo picketers, who marked the third anniversary of the start of miners' protests, have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that former employees of the "Kingcoal" Company are regularly holding pickets, demanding the payment of wage debts and issue of rationed coal. According to the prosecutor's office, Gukovo miners were not paid out the awarded 86 million roubles, and another two million roubles of compensation for the rationed coal.

On June 22, 83 persons gathered for a picket in Gukovo, sanctioned by the authorities, near the Palace of Culture of the "Rostovskaya" Mine, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who was present at the picket, reports.

At the picket, the miners elected their representative from the "Zamchalovsky" Mine, who will travel with the manager to courts and to the prosecutor's office and represent the interests of former workers of the "Zamchalovsky Anthracite".

On June 21, 2016, miners held their first picket; and during the time since, they managed to achieve a lot, Galina Koreneva, a member of the initiative group, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"We've almost completely received the wage debts; only compensations and rationed coal remain, or compensations for the coal. Now, everyone calls and thanks, although at first many didn't believe [in the efficiency of the action]," said Galina Koreneva.
