Kemal Tambiev complained at trial about beating

Kemal Tambiev, a resident of Dagestan, suspected, along with journalist Gadjiev of financing terrorism, was taken to the court with traces of physical violence and told at the session that he had been beaten up.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 14, law enforcers detained Abdulmumin Gadjiev, an editor of "Chernovik" (Draft) weekly. Apart from him, two more persons were detained within the case of financing terrorism – Abubakar Rizvanov, the head of the "Ansar" charity fund, and Kemal Tambiev.

On June 16, the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala extended Kemal Tambiev's detention by 48 hours at the request of his advocate, Rashid Djafarov, who explained that the defence had no time enough to collect materials characterizing Tambiev to respond to investigator's request to arrest the detainee.

Tambiev said at the court session that he was under physical pressure. Bruises were seen in Tambiev's face, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who was present in the courtroom, reports.
