Pupils' pilgrimage in Chechnya accompanied by lectures about Akhmat Kadyrov

In the month of Ramadan, authorities of Grozny organized excursions of high school pupils to the graves of saints, the Chechen Ministry of Education has reported. Schoolchildren themselves told that during the excursions they heard lectures about Chechen saints and Ramzan Kadyrov's father.

Until the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, which this year began on May 6, over 600 high school pupils of Grozny will visit the Ziyarats (burials of the saints), an official of the Ministry of Education of Chechnya told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Sultan, a teacher, believes that schoolchildren's pilgrimages to Ziyarats make an element to oppose the ideology of Salafism. "This campaign is aimed primarily at introducing our youth to our traditions, as opposed to Wahhabism," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Magomed, a schoolboy, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that while visiting Ziyarats, pupils were told about the life of Chechen saints, about their burial places, and about the role of the republic's leaders, in particular Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, in restoring and preserving Ziyarats.
