Theologians voice Ramzan Kadyrov's position in dispute with blogger Abdurakhmanov

In a dispute with blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, theologians voice the position of the Chechen leader, and they are involved in the dispute to use their authority to protect the memory of Akhmat Kadyrov, experts believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that top-ranking Chechen officials held a discussion with blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov. On March 9, Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen parliament, announced blood feud against the blogger for his statement about Akhmat Kadyrov.

Theologians' opinion concerning the religious activities of Akhmat Kadyrov is more respected than the statements of the officials, believes Mikhail Roschin, an expert in Islamic studies. According to him, the blogger's criticism does not undermine the authority of Ramzan Kadyrov, since the politician rethought his views.

It is convenient for Ramzan Kadyrov to present his opinion through someone, since such a method gives a feeling of additional competence, political analyst Alexei Malashenko believes.

"Akhmat Kadyrov was more of a politician, but Islam was of fundamental importance to him. This is typical for people of the entire Northern Caucasus," noted Alexei Malashenko.

Earlier, Chechen theologian Bai-Ali Tevsiev has criticized bloggers who spoke in negative way about the former leader of Chechnya.

On April 14, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced the reorganization of the media. According to him, journalists should stop "liars and people who spread gossip."
