Azerbaijan registers 21 shelling attacks in conflict zone

Positions of the Azerbaijani army came under fire, including in two border villages, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijan reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 28, Azerbaijan claimed shelling of its four villages and registered 20 violations of the ceasefire. However, the planned monitoring of the OSCE on the line of troop contact did not reveal any violations of the ceasefire regime.

"During 24 hours, units of the Armenian armed forces 21 times violated the ceasefire in different directions of the front," reports today the website of the Azerbaijani MoD.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the villages of Kemerli and Gaimagly in the Gazakh District came under fire.

As at 10:30 a.m. Moscow time on today, the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not posted on their websites any comments on the statement voiced by the Azerbaijani MoD.
