Over a thousand spectators watched the cartoon "Brave Horseman" in Makhachkala

The show of the cartoon "Brave Djigit" (Horseman) about Caucasian traditions has attracted the attention of the Dagestan public, Idris Magomedov, the project leader, believes.

The presentation of the cartoon was held on March 3 in Makhachkala. At a free-of-charge show, spectators could see all the parts of the cartoon. Before the shows, they held lotteries of prizes. Spectators were asked questions about the culture and traditions of Dagestan.

Mr Magomedov noted that the cartoon tells about the struggle of the good against the evil. The main heroes are the brave Djigit Said and the Dagestani mythological creature Azhdakha. "The goal of the project is to combine an interesting exciting story with moral values," said Magomedov.

In his opinion, "this is the first cartoon that bears exactly the Dagestani and Caucasian values."

The spectators, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", have noted the importance of such cartoons in upbringing children. Magomed Gasanov, a resident of Makhachkala, noted that the cartoon teaches respect for the traditions of the Dagestani people.

The cartoon is focused on the Dagestani moral foundations and traditions of the peoples of the Caucasus; and this is its main difference from similar films, said Mavluddin Karakhanov. In his opinion, this cartoon is more focused on Dagestani society than Western animation.
