Grozny resident gets under trial for a walk with Nazi flag

The administrative case against a resident of Grozny, who appeared in the city centre with a flag with swastika put on him, has been sent to the court. This is an atypical offense, the Chechen Prosecutor's Office (PO) has noted.

According to investigators, the resident of Grozny was walking around Admiral Ugryumov Street, hanging the Nazi flag on his back. Now he faces up to 15 days in jail or a fine of up to 2000 roubles, a PO's source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The source said that this was the first case in his memory when a resident of Chechnya is held accountable for displaying a Nazi flag. "Usually, we make accountable the Internet users, who post paraphernalia of extremist organizations or prohibited songs on their pages in social networks," he said.
