Grenade found near kindergarten in Baku

A teenager reported to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Azerbaijan that he had found a grenade in an abandoned front garden in a yard of a house in Ganja Avenue in Baku.

Rescuers from the Azerbaijani MfE and combat engineers from the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) left for the place where the grenade had been found. They took the grenade to a special ground and blew it up, the "Mir 24" reported on February 10.

Combat engineers also examined the area around the place where the grenade had been found. The front garden is directly adjacent to a kindergarten and is located near a residential five-storey building. There is a school on the other side of the front garden, a metro station is 200 meters away, and a bus stop is 50 meters away. No more dangerous items were found, the "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" reports.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the landscaping works in Mingachevir Street, workers found several grenades and more than five dozen rounds.
