Georgia reports kidnapping two citizens near the border with South Ossetia

The EU's observation mission has been informed about the kidnapping of two residents of the Georgian village of Okami near the border with South Ossetia, Georgian authorities report.

The men are residents of the village of Okami, Municipality Kaspi; they were detained by Russian militaries in a forest near Akhalgori, the "Georgia-Online" reports, referring to the Georgian State Security Service (SSS).

The detainees are accused of illegally crossing the border. "The hotline has been used; and observation mission of the European Union has been informed about the incident," the "InterPressNews" quotes the SSS.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 7, Georgia announced the kidnapping of a 50-year-old shepherd near the border with South Ossetia. On October 9, the man was released after paying a fine for his illegal crossing the border.
