In Karachay-Cherkessia, two Ministers resign after searches

Rustam Elkanov, Minister of Finance and Labour, and Muradin Kemov, Minister of Social Development, left their posts three weeks after searches had been carried out in the government building.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 27, sources reported on the searches in the building of the Karachay-Cherkessian government, including in the office of Rustam Elkanov, Minister of Finance for the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR).

The resignations of two ministers, including the Karachay-Cherkessian Minister of Finance, were initially reported by an informed source. Later, the press service of the Karachay-Cherkessian leader and the government confirmed the information on the resignations of Rustam Elkanov and Muradin Kemov, Minister of Labour, and explained their resignations by transition to another posts, the "Interfax-South" reports today.

Rustam Elkanov and Muradin Kemov were released from their posts after they had submitted letters to leave on their own, the TASS reported with reference to a source from the authorities of Karachay-Cherkessia.
