Opponents of Armenian leader Serzh Sargsyan call on policemen to join them

In the evening on Wednesday, an opposition rally in Yerevan turned into a march to the presidential residence. Activists offered policemen a cash reward for joining the demonstrators.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after Serzh Sargsyan was elected the Prime Minister of Armenia, opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan announced a "peaceful revolution." The police detained more than 90 people.

On April 17, former President Serzh Sargsyan headed the Armenian government and became the de facto leader of the state.

On the day earlier, the opposition called on Serzh Sargsyan's opponents in all regions of Armenia to start mass sitting strikes inside buildings of state bodies "to ensure there was no place for Serzh Sargsyan's officials in those organizations."

David Sanasaryan, a member of the civil initiative "Reject Serzh", has added members of the Diaspora offer to pay 10,000 US dollars to the first policeman who will join the demonstrators and each policeman who follows him will get 2000 US dollars.

The money was promised by "a compatriot living abroad," noted political analyst Armen Grigoryan as quoted by the TASS.
