Defence of Anzor Shibzukhov accuses policeman of perjury

Policeman Anzor Kushkhov has confessed that he did not draw up a protocol of inspection of the house belonging to report Anzor Shibzukhov, a resident of Baksan, a former staff member of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), accused of aiding and abetting militants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Anzor Shibzukhov is accused of aiding and abetting militants and drugs and arms trafficking. Relatives and advocates of Anzor Shibzukhov believe that the ammunition and drugs were planted during the search of his house. The defendant has stated that he made confession under torture.

On September 9, at the Baksan District Court, Anzor Kushkhov, a staff member of the Centre to Combat Extremism of the Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), confessed that he had not been engaged in the drawing up of the protocol of inspection of premises in the Shibzukhov's house, where, according to investigators, ammunition and drugs were discovered. This was reported by Ramzan Uzuev, an advocate of the defendant.

According to Ramzan Uzuev, Anzor Kushkhov has said that he remembered the above fact after the testimony. According to the defence, the policeman had been warned about the inadmissibility of perjury, and therefore, he is to be prosecuted.

Ramzan Uzuev associates the Anzor Kushkhov's actions with the fact that the examination of the protocol is to take place in the Rostov Region and not in Kabardino-Balkaria. The defence believes that now the protocol should be excluded from the evidence list.
