Law enforcers identify man killed in shootout in Khasavyurt as Magomed Zakaryev
The man, killed in a shootout with the police in Khasavyurt on December 23, is identified as a 23-year-old native of the Tsumada District of Dagestan. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" by a staff member of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on December 23, in Khasavyurt, policemen shot and killed a car driver, who opened fire when they tried to stop his car. A Makarov pistol was found inside the car. Later, the law enforcement bodies reported that the deceased man was identified as a member of the Khasavyurt criminal grouping. However, the law enforcers rejected to disclose the name of the deceased man.
"The killed man is identified as Magomed Zakaryev, born in 1992, a native of the Tsumada District, who lived in Khasavyurt. There is the operative information that he was involved in the attempt on lives of law enforcers," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Rasul Temirbekov, a staff member of the ICRF's Investigating Department for Dagestan.
