Khasavyurt police kill man in shootout
In Dagestan, in the city of Khasavyurt, a driver of a car, who opened fire on policemen, was shot dead. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.
The incident occurred at about 10:45 a.m. Moscow time.
"In Makhachkala highway, during search operations, the policemen tried to stop a passenger car. However, the driver failed to obey to their demands and opened fire on them. The attacker was killed by return fire," reports an official from the Dagestani law enforcers as quoted by the "Interfax".
The source has also reported that the law enforcers found a Makarov pistol inside the car. The deceased man was identified as a member of local ‘Khasavyurt’ militants grouping.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 11, a resident of Izberbash was also shot dead by policemen after he opened fire while they tried to check his documents.
On December 1, in a wooded area of the Buynaksk District of Dagestan, a suspected militant was killed during a shootout with law enforcers.
