During the week of October 19-25, 2015, one person was killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. No wounded were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The killed person was a suspected member of the armed underground in Dagestan.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On October 23, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced within the boundaries of residential settlements of Untsukul and Shamilkala of the Untsukul District of Dagestan. Residents of the villages of Untsukul and Shamilkala learned about the introduction of the CTO legal regime from the media. The villagers reported that the introduction of the CTO legal regime had no effect on their daily lives.

On October 24, the CTO legal regime was introduced in the village of Gimry of the Untsukul District of Dagestan. In the morning, law enforcers blocked a house in Gimry, and a shootout occurred, during which a suspected militant was killed. None of law enforcers was injured. The killed man was identified as Abdula Nustapaev, a 36-year-old local resident, an active member of the armed underground. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan, Abdula Nustapaev swore allegiance to the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia and recognized as a terrorist organization. The killed man was an active member of the neutralized "Gimry terrorist grouping". In June 2011, he was put on the federal wanted list for attempting to organize a terror act at the dam of the Irganai hydroelectric power plant (HPP), where he worked.

Detentions

On October 15, a resident of the village of Aushiger of the Cherek District of Kabardino-Balkaria, a 34-year-old teacher of mathematics and computer science at the secondary school, was detained in the course of operational and search activities on the outskirts of the village of Gerpegezh. As a result of the inspection of the suspect's VAZ-2110 car, law enforcers found and seized a Makarov combat pistol with magazine filled with eight live rounds, two fragmentation hand grenades, and a fuse. It was found out that the pistol and munitions were illegally acquired by the suspect as a result of his close cooperation with members of illegal armed formations (IAFs). The suspect has been arrested, and a criminal case has been instituted against him under Article "Illegal acquisition, storage, carrying of firearms, ammunition and explosive substances". The information was reported on October 21.

On October 19, Gazimagomed Aligadjiev and Gazimagomed Kamilbegov, residents of the village of Gimry, suspected of involvement in the armed underground, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities. An official from the OVD (Interior Division) has clarified that "according to the operational information, both suspects have recently joined the IAF."

On October 23, four persons were detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants in the village of Novy Kurush of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan. According to a local resident, law enforcers found a weapon during a search of one of the detainees.

Kidnappings

On October 20, Djamal Djamalov, a 43-year-old resident of Dagestan, was kidnapped by unidentified persons in Kizilyurt. Djamal Djamalov was driving his VAZ 21014 car when it was clipped and forced to the road side by a black Infinity crossover with tinted windows. Four men came out of the car. Three of them were in masks, and they forced Djamal Djamalov to their car. Later, it was reported that Djamal Djamalov was detained by law enforcers on suspicion of drug possession within the preventive operation "Mak" (Poppy). During the personal search, the law enforcers found drugs. Relatives of Djamal Djamalov believe that the drugs were planted on him. Officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the Prosecutor's Office do not provide any information on the whereabouts of Djamal Djamalov.

On October 25, the house of Isa Koitemirov, Imam of the Dagestani village of Kayakent, was searched by about 50 law enforcers, who came from Pyatigorsk.
