Georgia and Ukraine refuse to recognize elections in Nagorno-Karabakh
The parliamentary elections in Nagorno-Karabakh are not legitimate. This was announced by the statements made by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Ukraine.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 3, Nagorno-Karabakh held the voting at the parliamentary elections. The elections were attended by all three parties represented at the Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament and four opposition parties.
In its statement, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has declared that "the conduction of the so-called 'parliamentary elections' in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is a serious violation of international law," the "Georgia-Online" reports.
Meanwhile, in its special statement, the Georgian MFA emphasizes that it hopes the parties of the Karabakh conflict will continue their efforts for early peaceful settlement of the conflict.
According to the Ukrainian MFA, Ukraine has also refused to recognize the parliamentary elections in Nagorno-Karabakh and called them illegitimate, the "UNN" reports.
The press service of the Ukrainian MFA has also noted that Ukraine supports peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
