Head of Ingush POC demands to check facts of torture of Khadishat Albakova

Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the human rights organization "Mashr" and the head of the Republic's Public Oversight Commission (POC) has demanded from the public prosecutor of Ingushetia to check the information about the torture of the resident of Ingushetia Khadishat Albakova and other violations of her rights.

On February 6, Kheda Albakova addressed her applications to the HRC "Memorial", the "Mashr", the "Chechen Committee of National Accord" and the Ingush Ombudsperson.

"On December 2, 2014, in the settlement of Nesterovsky, during a passport check, my sister, Khadishat Albakova, born in 1995, was detained. During her detention, her husband wounded several law enforcers and escaped. After the detention, power agents beat up my sister," the Kheda's applications report.

According to her story, her sister was exposed to "psychological pressure and verbal abuse" and was tortured with electric shocks. She asked rights defenders to help in defending her sister's rights.

However, already on February 7, according to Mutsolgov, he received threats from one of top-ranking officials of the republic.

"In his conversation with me he said that she (Albakova) is the wife of a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF); and he, in fact, in my opinion, justified the use of violence against her," said Mutsolgov.
