In Dagestan, ROVD boss involved in Eradil Asanov's murder

The Police Lieutenant Colonel, the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan, is suspected of abuse of power that led to the death of a 22-year-old young man at the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Nogai District. This was reported by the Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 8, at the Nogai ROVD located in the village of Terekli-Mekteb, people held a protest action, demanding to punish the persons responsible for the death of Eradil Asanov. In their turn, officials from the ICRF had stated that the initial investigation into the circumstances of the murder can take up to 30 days.

According to investigators, on October 6, a policeman was questioning the 22-year-old Eradil Asanov, a resident of the Nogai District. The policeman exceeded his power: he used violence against the young man and made a shot on him. As a result of the gunshot wound to his head, the detainee died on the spot.

According to Rasul Temirbekov, the Senior Assistant Director of the Dagestani ID of the ICRF, the question on electing a form of pre-trial freedom restriction measure against the suspect is still under consideration.

Akhmed Bataliev, the Deputy Interior Minister, has reported the name of the policeman, who shot and killed Eradil Asanov, to the participants of the rally held in the village of Terekli-Mekteb.
