The results of pre-investigation inspection on Mirzekhanov’s statement of kidnapping are expected on March, 2

After publication of the material on the “Caucasian Knot” Public Prosecutor’s office of Dagestan took over the control of investigation on Alibek Mirzekhanov’s statement of kidnapping and torture by members of the top brass. The results of pre-investigative inspection are expected on March, 2, representative of the office Shamil Nasimov reported.

Derbent inter-district investigative unit of Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of Russia (CI) in Dagestan is carrying out inquiry on Mirzekhanov’s video message, representative of CI of Russia Shamil Nasimov told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

Nasimov said that Mirzekhanov himself did not appeal to Public Prosecutor’s office. The office decided to take over the control of the case after the “Caucasian Knot” published Mirzekhanov’s statement.

Mirzekhanov himself reports shadowing and threats he is receiving. “I do not spend the nights at home, I stay with my friends and regularly change my dislocation. I know that they a shadowing me. Yesterday I did not go to the place where I was going to spend the night. A friend of mine was near the place and saw the car which is always following me there”, Alibek Mirzekhanov told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

“Members of power ministries do not kidnap anyone. When they detain people on one or another criminal case the detainees sometimes start shouting that they were kidnapped”, representative of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Dagestan Fatina Unaidova declared.
