Office of ombudsman introduced in Karachaevo-Cherkessia

The institution of ombudsman has been introduced in Karachaevo-Cherkessia in conformity with the republican Law "On the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia". On December 5, the National Assembly of Karachaevo-Cherkessia confirmed the appointment of Vladimir Titarenko, chairman of the parliamentary committee on legislation, legality and local government, to this post. Mr. Titarenko will assume office just after he is sworn in at the December 19 session of the republican parliament. The office of the commissioner for human rights in Karachaevo-Cherkessia has the A category and is equal in its rank to the office of the vice prime minister of the republic.
