Large-scale "purges" in Grozny

Large-scale "purges" have been taking place in the Chechen capital for the last few days. "Special operations" are conducted jointly by the Russian military and local security agents, as citizens report. Security agents suddenly seal off a street or a block of buildings and make searches in the houses or inspect citizens' documents. Dozens of people, mainly young men, are reportedly detained in such "special actions".

The republican population is extremely alarmed with what is happening and express indignation about the continuing high-handedness from the direction of security agents.
