Mikhail Saakashvili: Georgia ready to take bold steps to resolve Abkhazian problem

New Georgian authorities are seriously inclined to resume peace and constructive dialogue with Abkhazian authorities and take the boldest steps to resolve the Abkhazian conflict, Georgian presidential contender Mikhail Saakashvili stated yesterday January 4, adding Tbilisi would never submit to the loss of Abkhazia as a part of the Georgian state.

Mikhail Saakashvili expressed hope that the role of Russia in the resolution of the given problem would become more constructive and that one of the UN would be larger. "Recent statements by Russian leader Vladimir Putin give us certain hope, though the main thing is that the Georgians and Abkhazians themselves should come to an agreement," stated Saakashvili.
