Tehran answered the note of protest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan

Tehran answered the note of protest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan concerning a statement of Head of General Staff of Armed forces of Iran, brigadier general Seiid Hasan Firuzabadi who predicted a “bad fortune” to Azerbaijan in connection with its contacts with Israel. The exact contents of the answer has not yet been made public however officials of the Iranian party in their comments condemn strongly-worded statements of Azerbaijan. 

It should be reminded that on August, 11, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Nadir Guseinov handed Iranian Ambassador a note of protest in connection with the statement of Head of General Staff of Armed forces of Iran Seiid Hasan Firuzabadi spread by mass media.

In his interview to media agency “Mehr” Firuzabadi accused Azerbaijani authorities of friendly relations with Israel. According to him, in case if this policy “condemned by the Moslems of Azerbaijan” is continued the authorities of the country are going to have a “bad fortune”. Firuzabadi considers that awakening of people is inevitable. “There is also Iranian blood in the veins of Azerbaijani people and a love for Islam”, Iranian general declared.

“Vigorous protest against such wanton and slanderous lies” was expressed in the note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran answered the note, "AZE.az" reports but the details of the answer are not disclosed.
