Public figures of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorny Karabakh drew out project of Karabakh conflict settlement

The Project of Peacemaking Process in the Region Covering Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorny Karabakh has been drawn out as a result of the meeting between public figures of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorny Karabakh in Dortmund. The meeting was arranged and sponsored by the Kettering Foundation, the U.S.

This document will be presented to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen. Journalists were informed about it by Aram Sarkisian, chair of the Armenian Democratic Party and a deputy of the National Assembly for the Justice faction, who participated in the meeting.

According to Mr. Sarkisian, the project provides for the resumption of the negotiation process, with three conflict parties being its participants. As a preliminary, the parties are to make a joint statement on their readiness to preserve the truce.

Aram Sarkisian declared that the adopted document could not be completely acceptable for the Armenian party, but it could be a basis for the resumption of the negotiations.

Mr. Sarkisian believes it is time to remove the process of negotiations from the secret list, which should be initiated by the leadership of Nagorny Karabakh.
