April 1 action named "Monstration" held in Astrakhan by the opposition

On April 1, in Astrakhan, activists of oppositional parties and movements held an action named "Monstration".

The picket participants held posters: "I love Putin", "Government, do you love us!?", "I like everything", "Long live political repressions", "Down with free education", "I love police", "Bees against honey, Bozhenov against corruption (Sergey Bozhenov is Mayor of Astrakhan, - note of the "Caucasian Knot")", "Congratulations on April Fools".

"The participants of the action wanted to show: when reaction reigns in the country; the attack on social rights continues; civil freedoms are suppressed; and the flywheel of political repressions is gaining momentum - the only possible way to fight against all that is to bring the situation to absurdity," Sergey Kozhanov, a regional activist of the movement "The Other Russia" told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Despite a huge concentration of policemen, in general, the event was funny; and occasional passers-by examined the posters with special interest," said Sergey Kozhanov.
