PACE expert to familiarize himself with human rights situation in Azerbaijan

Malcolm Bruce, Chairperson of the PACE Sub-Committee on Penal Law and Criminology, is expected to visit Baku on December 6-8, reported the Council of Europe Office in Baku on November 27. The aim of his visit will be to familiarize himself with the human rights situation in Azerbaijan.

During his visit Mr. Bruce will meet representatives of Azerbaijan governing bodies and non-government human rights organizations.

The PACE expert is also expected to familiarize himself with the conditions under which some prisoners who are ranked by the Council of Europe as political ones are kept.
