Azerbaijan: opposition newspapers appeared in print again

On November 20, after a five-day break, daily opposition newspapers "Azadlyg", "Yeni Musavat", "Baki Khabar", "Khurriyet", "New Time", "Yeni Zaman" and some others appeared in print again. They were printed in the Chap Yevi printing-house, the same one where they had been printed before. It is worth noting that the publication of the opposition newspapers had been suspended because of the sudden rise in newsprint prices in the local market.

According to director of the printing-house Shakhbaz Khuduoglu, the newsprint situation remains tense as the prices do not come down. The suspension in the publication of the newspapers by the Chap Yevi publishing house did not have any political motives, stressed Mr. Khuduoglu He is ready to print any opposition newspaper if printing costs borne by the publishing house are paid opportunely, he announced.
