Paruyr Ayrikian is skeptical about introduction of ombudsman institution in Armenia

"At the conjuncture that is in Armenia now, when laws do not work, the ombudsman institution can function only if it is supported by independent press; but there is no independent press in Armenia today," said chairman of the Union "National Self-Determination" Paruyr Ayrikian.

According to his words, the same text of the law on the ombudsman that has been adopted recently was not adopted five years ago because it did not meet international standards.

At the same time, Paruyr Ayrikian noted that the making of this institution pleased "as it will work tomorrow nevertheless."
