President of Chechnya is to be inaugurated on October 19

The inauguration of the president of Chechnya is scheduled for Sunday, October 19, Chechen Security Council Secretary Rudnik Dudayev reported in his telephone interview from Grozny on Tuesday.

According to the data of the Chechen election commission, over 80% of the constituents voted for the republic's head Akhmad Kadyrov in the elections last Sunday.

Rudnik Dudayev told Akhmad Kadyrov was going to establish a commission that would hold an inquiry into the events of 1991-1992 in Chechnya, which led to a conflict in the republic. According to Mr. Dudayev, the document on the establishment of such a commission is expected to be among the first edicts Kadyrov will sign as a president.
