Public Commission on Human Rights set up under President of Ingushetia

On December 10 Ingushetia set up the Public Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic, as reported by Magomed Mutsolgov, human rights activist and member of the Board of Experts under Russian Ombudsman.

"I was elected a member of the Commission. Yesterday, the constituent meeting was held with the presence of the President, officials, heads of power agencies and public figures. It's my pleasure to know that Bamatgirey Mankiev is also a member of the Commission," Mr Mutsolgov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Commission included Deputies of the National Assembly of Ingushetia, representatives of power agencies, NGOs and a number of ordinary citizens, among them Mukhmed Gazdiev, a resident of the Republic and father of Ibragim Gazdiev, kidnapped on August 8, 2007.

Azamat Nalgiev, former MP of Ingushetia, was appointed to chair the Commission.
