"Ossetia Accuses" action held in Strasbourg

On September 29, activists of the South-Ossetian Public Organization People's Forum "South Ossetia Accuses" picketed the Palace of the Europe in Strasbourg, where the PACE autumn session is taking place.

"We are here to tell the truth to the European public about the severe aggression of Saakashvili's regime against South Ossetia and actions of genocide against its residents, said in Strasbourg Oleg Kudukhov, Executive Secretary of the "South Ossetia Accuses". "We've gathered all the necessary documents and evidences of the guilt of Saakashvili and his regime of war crimes, and we'll lodge a claim to the International Court in The Hague."

Mr Kudukhov has also stated that his organization had addressed in the Council of Europe asking to give them a chance to make presentation to the participants of the PACE autumn session. The consequences of the conflict in the Caucasus will be in the focus of attention of the present session, the ITAR-TASS Agency reports.

The State Committee for Information and Press of the Republic of South Ossetia reports that about 300 applications have been sent from South Ossetia to the International Criminal Court and the European Court for Human Rights. South Ossetia is going to bring the Georgian authorities to responsibility for murders and genocide of the Ossetian people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already reported that on September 29, the "Ossetia Accuses" action was held at the Swedish Embassy in Moscow by several dozens participants of the People's Forum. The picketers have stated that one of the aims of their action is to demand trial of Saakashvili as a military criminal. They staged a dramatized performance, during which President of Georgia was convicted. The picket was held at the Swedish Embassy, since Sweden presides now at the PACE session in Strasbourg.
