Three interior servicemen were killed in Chechnya as result of gunfire

Three soldiers of the 49th detached brigade of the Russian interior troops were killed in Chechnya's Achkhoy-Martan region on Friday, a source in the staff of the Interior Ministry's temporary group in the Northern Caucasus reported.

The servicemen were guarding a railway near the village of Sernovodsk. The gunfire attack was launched from the railway tracks. The federal troops retaliated.

A search is underway in the area.

  • North-Ossetian minister excludes any changes of border with Ingushetia

    Authorities of North Ossetia have completed the coordination of the border with Chechnya and are ready to do the same with other neighbouring republics, Aslan Tsutsiev, the Minister for National Relations of North Ossetia, has announced. His republic denies any territorial claims of Ingushetia and would not revise the border therewith, Mr Tsutsiev has stressed.
