Baku analysts treat information about Russian "Grads" in Karabakh as fake

In Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian militaries have no need of "Grad" multiple launch missile systems (MLMSs), since they are not entitled to conduct any military operations, said retired Colonel, Shair Ramaldanov. "Grads" are outdated systems, but Russia is also transferring to the region other weapons, which were not stipulated by the trilateral agreement, said Azad Isazade, an expert.

The video clip, which allegedly shows the movement of "Grad" MLMSs and infantry fighting vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces on roads of Nagorno-Karabakh, was posted by the "Sputnik-Armenia" Telegram Channel.

The Reuters has also reported the deployment of "Grads". Reporters saw two such systems in the Lachin Corridor.

Shair Ramaldanov treats the information about "Grads" as fake. According to his story, in the event of excesses, Russian peacemakers, as well-trained soldiers, are able to defend themselves without artillery.

There is no need for Russia to bring any "Grad" MLMSs to the region, since they are weapons of the 1960s, said Azad Isazade, a military expert. He has noted that Russia has more advanced MLMSs – the "Hurricane" and "Smerch" complexes.

"Most likely, the photo shows the "Grad" systems, which were transported under the control of peacemakers from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia," he said.

Another issue is Russia's building up of the group of peacemakers, the expert has noted, suggesting that "the Russian party is building up its military grouping so that it would be difficult to knock it out of here."
