Leader of "AdequaD" oppositional movement detained in Armenia

Arthur Danielyan has been detained in Yerevan together with his associates.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after signing a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, 17 opposition forces have created the Saving Committee and are seeking the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. The rallies organized by them on November 11 and 12 were accompanied by detentions. On November 14, Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the "Fatherland" Party, was detained in connection with an attempt to usurp power and prepare for the assassination of Pashinyan.

The opposition's goal is to disrupt the enforcement of the truce, according to which Azerbaijan retains the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh occupied during the hostilities, and returns the territories of five districts adjacent to Karabakh – the "Security Belt".

During the aggravation of the Karabakh conflict, Mr Danielyan was on the frontline with a detachment of volunteers, the "Sputnik-Armenia" reports.

Let us add here that the "AdequaD" movement was formed after the "velvet" revolution. It was founded by Arthur Danielyan, Mr Pashinyan's former ally, and Narek Malyan, an ex-adviser to the head of the Republic's Police. They sharply criticize Pashinyan and his team.
