Residents of Agdam District report intensified shelling

Four civilians, including Anar Gasanov, a correspondent for the "AzTV" State TV Channel, were wounded in the shelling of the Agdam District. Residents of the neighbouring Terter District reported a large fire at the local ginnery after shelling.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 18, a truce came into force in Nagorno-Karabakh, but the next morning the parties again exchanged accusations of shelling. According to the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Azerbaijan, by October 19, a total of 61 civilians were killed by shelling; and 282 others were wounded.

This is the second case of a TV channel employee being wounded in recent days. On October 14, in the Terter District, an "AzTV" film crew came under fire; and the driver was wounded.

During the day, the village of Azad Garagoyunlu and the neighbouring dwelling settlements were shelled, said Sakhib Sadykhov, a villager.

"The ceasefire did not last even for 24 hours. After relative calm, an intensive shelling was resumed of the city of Terter and surrounding villages," the man has noted.

Natig Garaev, who lives in the Banovshalar village of the Agdam District, also spoke about the intense shelling – about ten shells hit the village and the surrounding area.

As a result, Garaev lost his home. Besides, according to his story, because of the shelling, villagers cannot perform their agricultural works.
