Native of Chechnya killed in a brawl in France

Law enforcers are investigating a street conflict in the northern French town of Evreux, during which a 27-year-old Chechen was shot dead.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this is not the first recent conflict with the participation of immigrants from Chechnya in France. After the August incident in the city of Saint-Dizier, members of the Chechen Diaspora expressed concern that French authorities might limit the provision of asylum to their fellow countrymen.

On August 14, in Saint-Dizier, law enforcers detained 16 immigrants from Chechnya; three of them were accused of organizing a criminal community and preparing armed revenge for their fellow countryman. On June 14, in Dijon, 20 people were injured in clashes of members of the Chechen Diaspora with local residents of Arab origin. The reason for the conflict was the beating of a 16-year-old boy from the Chechen community by drug dealers.

The brawl in Evreux broke out on September 25 in a bar, the "France Bleu" radio network has reported. According to witnesses, one of the brawlers shot at an opponent and fled.
