Nagorno-Karabakh announces fundraising to help Lebanese Armenians

The authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh announced fundraising for Armenian families in Beirut, where a powerful explosion took place. The first shipment of food aid was sent to the Lebanese capital.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 5, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh announced they were ready to accept 100-150 Armenian families from Beirut who found themselves in a difficult situation after the explosion.

The explosion occurred on August 4. As of August 11, 171 people were killed, and more than 6000 others were injured, while hundreds of houses were destroyed and damaged.

According to Vagram Pogosyan, the press secretary of the President of Nagorno-Karabakh, Nagorno-Karabakh sent 11.5 tons of aid to Beirut by an aircraft from Yerevan on August 10.

"The food aid includes sunflower oil and canned vegetables, fruits, and jams produced in Artsakh," Vagram Pogosyan reported.
