In Baku, protestors get quarantine leave

Residents of Azerbaijan, who had been earlier placed under quarantine, have demanded to let them go home, because the 14-day isolation period had expired. A protest action accelerated the checkout process.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from early March, 15,000 people returned to Azerbaijan, and most of them were placed under quarantine. According to the operational headquarters, as at April 6, there were 4369 people in quarantine zones.

On April 6, people placed under quarantine in the Baku Athletes Village held a protest rally. They stated that they had been staying under quarantine for more than two weeks already and demanded to let them go home. The protesters shouted and knocked on various objects. The arrival of the police did not calm them down: the protestors started to throw chairs and other items from balconies.

Some of the protesters had been staying under quarantine for the 15th day already, journalist Vyusalya Alibeili reported. According to her, over the past two days, 65-70 people have been sent home.

The protests were unfounded, since the quarantine regime could last from 14 to 21days, announced Ravana Gulieva, the press secretary for the Joint Administration of Medical Territorial Units.
