Video of beating inmate outrages residents of Chechnya

In Russian jails, they are biased towards natives of the Caucasus, residents of Chechnya have noted after posting the video with the beating of the prisoner Khasdin Murtazaliev. The video refutes the recent Ramzan Kadyrov’s statement about the respectful attitude to Chechens in jails, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has noted.

The video posted on the YouTube shows several colony employees beating up the convicted Chechen.

The Chechen advocate named Eli has treated the beating and bullying inmates in colonies as the “common practice.”

According to the human rights organization “Public Verdict”, the colony employees, who were beating up Khasdin Murtazaliev, are already under investigation.

Back in 2015, human rights defenders pointed to inhumane treatment of inmates from Chechnya and Ingushetia in Russian colonies. Thus, in 2014, a native of Chechnya, Yusup Tepishev, was placed into compartment for dogs and kept handcuffed to the bars. He was also taken outdoor naked, thrown into the snow and doused with water.
