Rights defenders tell details of searches that Chechens faced in Germany

In Germany, law enforcers blew up the door to the apartment where migrants from Chechnya live, and didn’t allow a mother to be with her small kids during the search, although there were no claims to the detainees, human rights defenders have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that German law enforcers conducted a series of searches within the case on plotting of a terror act. Three migrants from Chechnya aged 23-28 years were detained. The German Prosecutor's Office reported that the detainees adhere to Islamic beliefs and that law enforcers had found in their mobile phones the photo materials proving that the suspects were choosing a place for a terror act.

Amina Sadulaeva, the executive director of the "Vayfond" Chechen human rights association, has confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the information about the detention of Chechen natives and searches in their apartments. According to her story, the searches were conducted in Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Thuringia, as well as in the cities of Arnstadt and Berlin.

During the searches, no weapons were found; and the money was not taken away, Mansur Sadulaev, the "Vayfond" chairman has added.

According to his story, all the detained Chechens were released within two hours; and some were interrogated at home without being taken to the police station. “The main suspect was detained when he was heading to one of the agencies in Berlin [...] When (law enforcers) handcuffed him, the guy said that only his wife and small children were at home and asked (law enforcers) not to scare them. However, law enforcers ignored the request, knocked out the door, took (his wife) into a separate room, and didn’t let her to their children,” Mr Sadulaev told the details of the searches.

“They broke through to one (native of Chechnya) by blowing up the front door, without even knock and asking a permit to enter. They took the guy to the police station and released him in 15 minutes, after taking his fingerprints,” Mansur Sadulaev has added.

According to his story, law enforcers told the third detainee that he had been filming, together with the rest of the detainees, a synagogue, and told him the date, after which the detainee showed his passport with the stamps confirming that he was not in Germany at that time.

“It was a show aimed at mass media [...] and the public in order to prepare laws on the deportation of Chechen refugees and accuse them of terrorism,” the human rights activist has concluded.

The Chechen parliament has called on the German authorities to "deal with the incident and not to admit discriminatory actions against Chechens in the future."
