Organizers of "AniDag" anime festival note decrease of aggression towards its participants

The organizer of the event, Saida Tuchalova, has pointed out just single aggression acts towards the participants of the "AniDag" anime festival, which was disrupted because of threats in 2018. Spectators of the festival have noted its importance for self-realization of Dagestani youth.

On November 25, 2018, in Makhachkala, the "AniDag" festival was disrupted. According to the journalist, Svetlana Anokhina, the theatre's directorate and the organizers were bombarded with threats. According to the activist, Marat Ismailov, at least one female participant in the festival received traumas during the conflict.

The festival, held on October 20 in Dagestan, aroused great spectators' interest. According to the "Dagestanskaya Pravda", the programme included a fair, master classes, exhibitions, a concert with dance and song performances and various contests.

After the festival, some social network users expressed indignation, but it was not widespread, said Saida Tuchalova.

"Children and I are thrilled. This is one of the few events in Dagestan, where children can experience a different culture, and self-realize," said Zelvira, the mother of two teenagers who took part in the festival, the "Kavkaz.Realii" writes.
