Football fans rally in protest at Dutch Embassy in Baku

Azerbaijani football fans are outraged by the refereeing of a Euro-2020 qualifying match by the Dutch referee, Dennis Higler. The referee had unjustly deprived the Azerbaijani national team of one goal and judged a defeat instead of a draw, the protesters are sure.

The above match Hungary-Azerbaijan was played in Budapest on October 13; the Hungarian national team won it 1:0.

The controversial episode occurred already in the added time.

On October 14, a group of Azerbaijani fans held a picket at the Dutch Embassy in Baku, the "Sportinfo.az" has reported.

Baku fans, who did not take part in the action, share the indignation of picketers. They believe that the Azerbaijani team was undeservedly stripped of a goal.
