Journalists treat Kadyrov's words about invasion into Dagestan as groundless

Ramzan Kadyrov tried to remove responsibility for the invasion of militants into Dagestan from Chechens and impose it on Dagestanis, but authorities had never denied that Dagestani militants took part in the attack, the editors-in-chief of Dagestani editions have stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on the 20th anniversary of the militants' invasion into Dagestan, the head of Chechnya has called the thesis that "Chechen terrorists attacked Dagestan" to be false.

By imposing the responsibility for the 1999 events on Dagestan, Kadyrov intensified tensions between the two republics, Orientalists believe.

Kadyrov's complaints that Chechens are accused of the invasion are unjustified, since it has always been officially stated that international terrorists invaded Dagestan from Chechnya, Milrad Fatullaev, the editor-in-chief of the RIA "Derbent", has emphasized.

In his opinion, there will be no serious problems in Chechens-Dagestanis relations after Kadyrov's statement, but an "additional element of mistrust" will appear.

Kadyrov's interpretation of historical events has triggered rejection in Dagestan; and in the future it may lead to mutual insults and new problems among residents of the two republics, the journalist has added.

Dagestan has never denied the participation of its residents in this raid, Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik" (Draft), has emphasized.
