Bomb report leads to evacuation of people from Nalchik mosque

Law enforcers checked information about a bomb planted in a mosque building in the centre of Nalchik; the threat turned out to be false, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

The fact that the central mosque of Nalchik was evacuated on May 22 after an anonymous call about the threat of explosion was reported by a law enforcement source.

He said that experts of emergency services went to the mosque, but nothing was found during a check, the TASS reports.

The same information was confirmed in the press service of the MIA for Kabardino-Balkaria. "The inspection of the building is over; no explosive objects have been found," a press officer has stated, noting that access to the mosque is already open, the "Interfax-South" reports.

According to an employee of the Muftiate of Kabardino-Balkaria, there was no worship service at the time the call about a bomb planted in the mosque in Shogentsukov Avenue was received, the "Interfax-South" has added.
